The Friends of WBGS is the School's parent association.  It operates independently from the School with its own executive committee.

The official name is: The Friends of Watford Boys Grammar School and it is a registered charity number: 1073843.

The Friends are supported by the School's External Relations Coordinator Miss Donna Connolly.

The Friends exist to support the social development of the School's community whilst fundraising to provide additional educational opportunities for the students of Watford Grammar School for Boys.

All parents are automatically become members of The Friends. An Executive Committee of parent volunteers exist to coordinate fundraising activities in collaboration with the school contact – Miss Donna Connerly. The Executive includes The Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.  The executive committee meet each term to agree fundraising activities and delivery and members are voted in annually at the AGM in September of each academic Year.

Who we are

The Friends of Watford Boys is an association of parent volunteers who are committed to supporting the school. Throughout the year, we agree on funding projects to provide additional equipment that will enhance the school experience for students. We run social events for parents, raffles and refreshment stands at concerts and plays which together provide significant funding to the school. Over the years, we have funded an impressive list of projects including music equipment, table tennis tables, theatre audio equipment, bus shelters, chrome books and a mini bus!

We run a well-stocked second-hand school uniform shop offering good quality clothing every Wednesday which also raises funds for the school.

As a parent, you are automatically a member and we welcome your participation and input. At the heart of what we do, we are trying to build a supportive community of parents who work together for the students so please do get in touch and join us.

You can help and be part of what we do by:

• Volunteer a few hours a term to join us selling refreshments at events
• Donate gifts for raffle prizes to reception
• Secure sponsors
• Share your ideas and expertise at one of our Friends Meetings – times published on school website
